Toxic perfectionism and anxiety therapy in St. Louis, Missouri.

Perfectionism is sneaky. It motivates you by keeping you on edge and telling you that you’re not good enough. Maybe when you make X achievement or have gotten approval from Y people, THEN you can relax. So you push, push, push until you’re almost all the way burned out.

The truth of it is, you’ll never prove your worth when you’re constantly looking for outside approval.

So let’s train your brain to reset your standards.

Perfectionism goes hand-in-hand with

Overwhelm

Stress

Critical Self-Talk

Perfectionism can make you…

  • feel like a failure (at everything)

  • procrastinate to the point of not starting tasks (if it’s not perfect why bother)

  • struggle to calm down in moments of overwhelm (all that critical self-talk)

  • feel uncomfortable with sharing your true thoughts and emotions (because vulnerability feels way too hard)

We’ll create a plan rooted in evidence-based strategies for all of your perfectionism problems. We can help you FEEL BETTER, and manage the overwhelming thoughts and feelings that get in your way and hold you back.

The Process:

  • 1.

We deep dive to find where perfectionism has historically tripped you up (and explore what you could have done differently).

  • 2.

Over 12 weeks, we build the skills you need to help you break your perfectionism patterns.

  • 3.

We track outcomes to make sure things are actually getting better, and tailor our approach to you.

  • 4.

At the end of 12 weeks, you leave with a plan in place to manage your stress and perfectionism going forward - or we keep meeting if needed.

When perfectionism gets in your way, we’re here to help.

Through exploring past patterns, building coping and mindfulness skills, problem solving, and a target approach, you can move forward with your life with clarity and confidence.

You don’t have to be perfect all the time. You can turn in good enough assignments and tell your brain to stop with the critical self-talk. You can learn how to feel better.

We’re here to help.
