“I have no idea how college is going to look in the fall.”

The teens and college students we see for therapy are all feeling overwhelmed about coronavirus. Our lives changed so quickly. And the endings you had expected - for the semester, or for the year - aren’t going to happen anymore. At least not the way you had planned.

Rather than having a great graduation ceremony, or an awesome end of year party, you’re stuck at home.

And you have no idea what the next school year is going to look like.

Intensive anxiety counseling services to get you ready for college.

College can feel INCREDIBLY overwhelming. Especially now.

Many highschool seniors feel this mixture of emotions the summer before they leave for college. Excitement, overwhelm, anxiety, nerves. It’s so hard to prepare for something when you don’t really know what it’s going to be like. For students returning from college for the summer, you can feel really unprepared for going back.

Add social distancing, coronavirus fears, and how schools aren’t even 100% on how the next year is going to look, and you’ve added stress to a magnitude of, like, 10.

College is extra tough when you’re a teen with anxiety and perfectionism.

You know you want to do well, and you’re not 100% sure on how to do it. While you got good grades throughout school, anxiety wasn’t sitting on the sidelines. It was always there underneath the surface, maybe feeling like it motivated you, and other times feeling like it was just getting in the way.

For new college students, that background anxiety can spike in college, causing you to struggle during your first few semesters of college.

And for our anxious, perfectionist teens and college students, you’re so used to having a plan. And now it probably feels like you can’t.

So what can we do about it?

We want you to be prepared on the emotional, anxiety management side so that you truly feel ready and prepared for the big changes coming ahead.

Summer is a unique opportunity to really dig in to your anxiety management skills, so that you can build a fantastic toolbox before you need to leave for college. We’ll help you explore what your automatic stress thoughts are, how they impact you emotionally, and what you can do to change it.

Offering 70 minute anxiety-focused sessions, where we build skills and prepare you for college.

College preparedness is the #1 reason parents call us during the summer - they feel concerned about whether or not you’re actually ready to go, or go back (and from our work over the years, we know you’re concerned about it, too). We want to provide you with the skills you need to succeed in college, and get you on the right track before you go.

What we cover:

  • Assess how anxiety impacts you now, and how it may impact you in college

  • Build your relaxation toolbox, so you have all the skills you need to manage your stress

  • Target your unhealthy coping mechanisms so that you have a plan in place before you get there

  • Track your progress with our free printable workbook just for you, to keep notes and make plans to set you on the right path for college

The thing is, you can have a plan for college, even when we don’t have all of the details. Let’s come up with it together.

During the summer, we want to accommodate your schedule, which is why we’re intensifying the length of time while offering some flexibility on our typical weekly requirement.

Sessions last 70 minutes, with an 8 session minimum to cover the curriculum.

We schedule appointments around your schedule, so that we can fit around your other summer needs. Morning and afternoon appointments are available, so that you can prep for college and then get on with the rest of your day.

And, if you need to schedule more than one in to make up for a missed week, we’re happy to accommodate your needs.

Cost:

$330 per 70 minute session, plus a bonus weekly check in when you need it. Pay via check, cash, or credit card at the start of every session.

Limited availability:

Appointments will start in May, and spots are limited, so please reach out soon! We’re scheduling on a first come, first serve basis - and only with people who will be a good fit for our approach. Schedule your college preparedness consultation right here:
