Now hiring Anxiety Therapists in St. Louis!

You’ve been working as a therapist for a while now, and you’re burning out.

Your caseload is huge and yet you spend way too much time dealing with reports and paperwork and meaningless admin. You became a therapist to help people, so why is there so much extra noise? Friends have even suggested you quit and start up your own private practice, but that seems like it would just get in the way of what you actually want to do: helping the kids and teens who need it.

Let us deal with all that hard stuff. Join the team at Compassionate Counseling St. Louis!

We’re looking to hire clinicians who are ready to jump into dedicated anxiety, anger management, and trauma work for kids, teens, and families.

Instead of dealing with all of the head spinning dynamics that come with running a business, we want you to be able to focus on your small caseload filled with fantastic, eager clients who are a great fit for you.

Supportive Environment

You’ll be provided extensive training and support on identifying and treating anxiety-driven anger in kids, teens, and young adults. Every policy and decision we make is backed up by the research and our years of experience.

Hybrid Option

Our office is located in Clayton. We primarily provide in-person therapy, with the option for some virtual time at home.

Requirements:

Christina @ wocintechchat.com
  • 1.

Missouri licensed social worker, counselor, or psychologist.

  • 2.

Extensive experience in child and adolescent therapy.

  • 3.

Comfort working with young children through to college-aged young adults

  • 4.

Some evenings required between Monday through Friday.

Pay Scale

Salary range: Earn up to 34,200 - 98,300 per year as a W2 employee

$45-60/hour base salary rate negotiated based on experience.

$20 bonus for all clinical hours when you see 11+ clients during the week.

You must be available for at least 15 hours per week

Wages listed are an example of earnings potential for a therapist with a minimum of 15 hours of face-to-face client contact per week, and up to 25 hours per week. Earnings and bonus potential increase as your caseload does!

Signing Bonus

In addition to your hourly pay, if you apply directly through us (careers@compassionatecounselingstl.com) you will earn a $500 signing bonus after your first 6 months.

Benefits

Continuing Education Stipend: $200 ce stipend per quarter (plus free ce’s when we can find and share them!) and ongoing support and supervision from Kelsey on identifying and treating anxiety-driven anger.

Supported Self-Care: Therapists preach self care, but do we follow through on our own? We want you to take care of yourself, which is why we provide up to $200 in bonuses each quarter to use towards self care services.

Paid Time Off: All therapists accrue up to 4 weeks of PTO that rolls over each year.

Community: A kick-ass team of therapists, building a community and helping you out. Monthly supervision, with access in between meetings to get information, resources, or just run stuff by someone else.

Collaborative Scheduling: We tailor your work schedule to you. We also divide up your schedule as you see fit - so you can do 5 clients a day during 4 days of the week, or knock it out in 3 longer shifts if that’s better for you.

…but what about health insurance??

At Compassionate Counseling St. Louis, we feel a full time schedule shouldn’t include more than 25 clients a week. At that point, you’re closer to burn out and it’s harder to keep track of everyone.

However, in Missouri, employees must work 30 or more hours to qualify for any health insurance plans.

We’ve run the numbers, and while we could figure out a way to make 30 hours feasible, we’d rather have you flexible and free with a great work/life balance.

We’re happy to explore health benefits, including insurance, or Health Savings Accounts, for full time employees (20+ clients) - but we would love to help you figure out if there are better options for you through the marketplace that don't make you work a burnout schedule. Let’s talk more about this during your interview if you’re curious!

Why W-2 Employment is a Better Fit for Therapists

At Compassionate Counseling St. Louis, all of our clinicians are W-2 employees, not 1099 contractors. Here’s why that matters, and how it benefits you:

  • We share the tax burden
As a W-2 employee, we split your payroll taxes with you. In contrast, 1099 contractors are responsible for 100% of their self-employment taxes, which can come as a surprise at tax time.

  • We provide structure and support
As an employee, you’re part of a team. We handle administrative and scheduling tasks, so you can focus on your clients. You’ll also have access to a CE stipend, ongoing supervision, and clinical support - benefits you typically can’t receive as a contractor.

  • You don’t need to start your own business
1099 therapists are technically self-employed. That means setting up an LLC, managing your own bookkeeping, marketing yourself, and keeping up with compliance, all on your own time and dime. As a W-2 employee with us, you just show up and do the work you love.

  • We invest in your growth
Because you’re a W-2 employee, we’re able to offer paid trainings, team collaboration, and a structured feedback model. This leads to better outcomes for clients—and more sustainable careers for clinicians.

If you’re used to contracting or coming from a setting with little support, we think you’ll find that our W-2 model provides a more stable, supported, and connected way to do the work you care about.
