Appointments, Cost, and Insurance Questions
Sessions are 45-50 minutes long on a weekly basis. I'm in the office from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. During our initial intake call, you and I will figure out the best appointment time for our weekly appointments - that way you know your time is protected, and I won't schedule someone else during your session time.
Right before our first session I'll send over my introductory paperwork online. That way we can jump right in on session 1, instead of you having to come early to fill out paperwork.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please cancel with at least 48-hours notice to avoid being charged the full session fee. I also can offer sessions over the phone or through my hipaa-compliant video system, doxy.me, which some insurance companies reimburse. If you don't have access to your computer, we can also have a session over the phone, though insurance companies will not reimburse phonecalls.
Individual therapy is $205 per 45/50-minute session, which includes a brief consultation with you as the parent at the beginning of our session time. Initial 15-minute assessment phonecalls are provided at no cost to you. Moving forward, I'm happy to touch base via email or brief phonecalls between sessions, and if we need to talk longer than 15 minutes we'll count it as a partial session and charge accordingly.
If you have concerns about meeting these costs, please contact me to discuss further. And, I am happy to provide referrals to other providers!
Payment is due at the start of every session. I accept cash, check, or credit card payment through my secure online system, Simple Practice.
I am able to provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurance company. Typically, insurance companies reimburse you a portion of your expenses from counseling, but different insurance companies reimburse at different rates. It can be frustrating!
You can find more information about what questions to ask on my website, right here.
If you are a member of Blue Cross Blue Shield, their instructions for submitting a claim for reimbursement can be found here.
